"I kept searching for an organisation that would train me, provide contracting work or a franchise, and would also supervise and guide me towards becoming a tax agent. I found TaxAssist Accountants which will help me to achieve what I desire."

What initially attracted you to the TaxAssist Academy?

I’m planning to develop a new career as a tax agent, and I have a strong interest in taxation both in Australia and Taiwan. (I attend tax update courses every month.)

Before joining the TaxAssist Academy, I had completed some RTA courses through different organisations, but none of them offered contractor roles or franchise opportunities. So, I kept searching for an organisation that could train me, offer contract or franchise work, and also supervise and guide me on the path to becoming a registered tax agent. That’s when I found TaxAssist Accountants—it offers everything I was looking for.

How much of the training course was new to you?

I think the cost of the TaxAssist Academy course is reasonable compared to other RTA or professional courses I’ve taken, and the content is of a high quality. I’ve really learnt a lot through the Academy.

What did you find most beneficial, or did you enjoy most?

I really appreciated that TaxAssist offers online training. I was able to complete the training while overseas, and now that I’m returning to Australia, I’ll be able to set up an office and start looking for clients right away.

The trainers have been fantastic—very generous with their time, and they explained everything clearly and patiently. I particularly enjoyed the webinars. The training content was excellent, and I appreciated the chance to interact with other Academy members.

Even though I haven’t started yet, I know the workpapers, letters, checklists, and flowcharts from the PTA website will be incredibly useful when I begin working with clients.

How has the support been helpful when doing client work?

I don’t have any clients just yet, but I know that when the time comes, Mandy and her team will be there to support me.

What are your plans for the future after completing the Academy program?

Since starting the Academy, I feel confident to launch my own TaxAssist Franchise. I’m now transitioning from the Academy Program into ownership of the Rhodes/Olympic Park franchise and will begin trading as a TaxAssist Accountant from 23rd March 2024.

The Support Office has provided a clear timeline to get everything in place—websites, social media pages, and marketing—so I can begin helping clients reduce tax and grow their businesses as soon as I return to Australia. I’m looking forward to a successful 2024 as a TaxAssist Accountant.
