The TaxAssist Academy has proudly announced the launch of its Academy Program for 2025, building on the tremendous success of the 2024 program. The previous year saw 5 members graduate and 11 more slated to graduate within the first six months of 2025. The Academy’s mission continues to be the nurturing of skilled tax professionals, prepared to excel in the industry and meet the demands of their clients with confidence and expertise.
Achievements of the 2024 Program
The accomplishments of the 2024 Academy Program serve as a testament to its effectiveness and the dedication of its members. Graduates have gone on to pursue various prestigious roles:
- Running their own TaxAssist Accountants practice as franchisees.
- Working as contractors for TaxAssist Franchises.
- Gaining employment as Tax Agents within the industry.
The success of last years graduates highlights the program’s comprehensive training and the excellent opportunities it provides.
Enhanced Training and Mentorship
To further bolster the support and guidance offered by the Academy, the program has welcomed two additional training mentors for 2025. This brings the number of experienced trainers to six, ensuring personalised attention and mentorship for all Academy members and franchisees.
Kevin Chen, a veteran with over 25 years of experience running a successful practice as an extremely experienced Tax Agent, leads the mentor team from the Neutral Bay office.
Dawn Thurlow, an SMSF Auditor, adds another layer of expertise, particularly valuable for franchisees and Academy members working with clients who have complex Trust and SMSF structures.
Their combined knowledge and experience are invaluable additional assets to the Academy’s training program.
Integrated Training Approach
Mandy Sigaloff, CEO of TaxAssist Accountants, emphasised the importance of integrating academic knowledge with real-world application. She stated, “TaxAssist Accountants Franchisees and Academy members will be completing the TaxAssist Initial Training Course (ITC) 2025 together, ensuring academic knowledge is applied in real-life working situations. Once Graduated from the ITC, franchisees will enter a period of Mentoring whilst they gain experience working with their own clients and building their business before moving onto the Franchise Supervision program until they successfully apply for their own Tax Agent Licence.”
This structured pathway ensures that franchisees and Academy members are thoroughly prepared, from initial training to independent practice, fostering a seamless transition into their professional roles.
Program Structure for 2025
The Academy Program for 2025 is meticulously designed to equip potential franchisees with the necessary skills and experience. The program timeline is as follows:
Initial Training Course (ITC)
- Duration: 6 – 8 weeks
- Focus: Academic learning and practical application
Mentoring
- Duration: Variable (based on individual progress)
- Focus: Working with clients and gaining hands-on experience
Supervision
- Duration: up to 12 months expiry of Academy program or until successful application for Tax Agent Licence if a franchisee.
- Focus: Building a business and growing your TaxAssit Accountants Practice.
This staged approach allows participants to build their competencies progressively, ensuring they are well-prepared to run their own TaxAssist Accounting practices successfully.
Limited Places for Personalised Training
To maintain the high quality of training and support, the Academy Program for 2025 will be limited to 30 places. This ensures that each participant receives the personalised attention and mentorship necessary for their success. The Academy is committed to providing a nurturing environment where Franchisees and Academy members can thrive and achieve their full potential.
